The Power of Intuition
Everyone has intuition. The real question is: Why don’t more people confidently use it? Intuition is a life skill that unlocks each person’s unique gifts and talents. At the BRP Institute we align with SOL University’s motto: “Your uniqueness is your superpower.” If you’re not yet aware of your unique purpose on this planet, it’s time to strengthen your intuitive abilities.
Here’s a simple way to begin: Start by assessing your current intuitive skill set so you can understand where to focus your energy. Like all superpowers, intuition is accessed through the Master Key of Life: Self-Love.
Many people believe that self-sacrifice is the key to unlocking heaven on earth, but the truth is, it’s self-love. Self-love is about paying attention to yourself. Self-sacrifice, on the other hand, means giving more attention to others than to yourself—often at the expense of your own well-being. When we constantly give our attention without replenishing our energy reserves, we risk feeling drained and burned out.
Self-love means that when you give to others, you also take time to replenish your own energy. You find ways to nurture yourself so you don’t deplete yourself in the process. By doing this, you keep your superpower activated and maximize your potential on this Earth. So, what makes more sense: paying attention to yourself, or to others?
Paying attention to yourself is synonymous with intuiting.
When we reflect on life, we see that focusing on ourselves leads to greater fulfillment and energy. Yet, distractions often cause us to forget this simple truth. These distractions push us to focus more on others than on ourselves. You may have heard people say, “Stop being selfish; it’s not always about you.” The truth, however, is that your life is about you. No one else can live your life but you.
If you keep sacrificing yourself for others, what happens to your life? One of the first things you’ll lose touch with is your inner voice. If you don’t spend time with yourself and practice your intuitive skills, you atrophy the ability to discern your unique inner voice from all the others.
“Spirit will tell me what I need to know exactly when I need to know it. The key is listening and being obedient to spirit”
— Busi Peters-Maughn (Women Healing and Empowering Women)
But what if we hear more than one inner voice?
Our true inner voice is the center of our intuitive power. Intuition requires us to pay attention to ourselves, focus on ourselves, and listen to ourselves. The reality is, there is only one true, unique inner voice that knows everything about you.
We often adopt other people’s voices when we pay more attention to them than to our own. This pattern usually begins in childhood when adults project their beliefs onto children, teaching them that adults know more about them than they know about themselves.
For example, parents might say, “I brought you into this world, and I can take you out.” While this statement is rarely said today, the underlying message is still passed down: the parent is the authority, and the child should simply obey. When children don’t listen to adults, they often face punishment—even when the adult’s directives are misguided.
This pattern doesn’t help children connect with their own unique inner voice. While parents can observe a child’s natural gifts or interests, only the child can truly hear their own inner voice and intuit their unique purpose.
In society, it is the responsibility of parents and caregivers to create an environment where children can discover their true, unique purpose and develop their superpowers. Currently, on a large scale, we’ve forgotten that children are born with innate intelligence. Our job is not to pour knowledge into them but to draw it out.
Even as adults, we may find ourselves in environments that don’t encourage us to fully discover our unique purpose. But the same nurturing that helps children discover their purpose can be applied to adults as well. It’s a universal, divine formula that helps us grow, blossom, and unfold naturally at our own pace.
This is the vision of the BRP Institute: We envision a society of individuals who are in touch with their superpowers. These individuals will intuitively know who they are and activate their unique abilities in the world. Imagine a world where more people are consciously living their true purpose, bringing their unique superpowers to Earth. Imagine the harmony we would create if we all lived with intention, sharing our divine gifts with the world.
