Our Philosophy
SOW WELL™ is grounded in a simple yet powerful truth:
“What we sow—into the soil and from the soul—determines what we reap.”
We approach wellness and development wholistically, recognizing that true human thriving requires alignment across all dimensions of life:
Mind — purpose discovery, emotional intelligence, clarity, and focus
Soul & Spirit — inner alignment, peace, self-trust, and divine order
Relationships — family strength, leadership, cooperation, and trust
Land & Food Systems — regenerative agriculture, food sovereignty, and stewardship
Economics — sustainable wealth, ownership, production, and legacy building
Our work and products bridges ancient wisdom and modern systems, honoring cultural intelligence—especially African ancestral knowledge- the cradle of civilization—while designing future-ready solutions for today’s world.
Our Vision
We envision a world where:
Communities are producers, not just consumers
Education restores identity, dignity, confidence, and direction
Land is honored as a living partner, not an extractive resource
Wellness is measured by thriving, not surviving
Support systems teach sustainability, not dependency
Future generations inherit systems that work for life
SOW WELL™ is a living blueprint for what becomes possible when care, consciousness, and cultivation come together in right relationship.
Moving Forward Together
SOW WELL™ grows through partnership, not patronage.
We believe transformation happens in relationship, when people are given the tools, education, and trust to thrive on their own and together.
Whether you are here to learn, partner, invest, or build, we welcome you into the work of regenerating soil, soul, and society.
Partners and Builders
Janice Brown
Founder, On the Grow™ | Master Gardener | Master Naturalist | Garden Educator & Green Movement Leader
Janice Brown—affectionately known as “The Girl on the Grow”—is the founder of On the Grow™, a garden coaching and education service in the Houston area where she brings together her two lifelong passions: teaching and gardening.
Janice’s love for nature began early. As a child, she loved to read, create, learn, teach, and spend quiet moments observing the world around her. At just eight years old, she planted her very first garden—a simple packet of radish seeds that blossomed into a thriving vegetable crop. Watching those radishes grow planted a deeper seed in her heart: a calling to nurture, teach, and help living things flourish.
Her career began in the classroom as a high school English teacher, where she ignited learning through creativity and connection. She later transitioned into educational leadership, serving as a Model Lesson Writer, Teacher Trainer, and ultimately a Training Manager, developing systems to elevate teaching excellence across campuses.
Today, Janice is a nationally respected garden educator who has taught hundreds of classes and reached thousands of children through school garden programs. She brings gardening to life with hands-on, culturally relevant lessons that inspire curiosity, confidence, and emotional wellness. Families across Houston have transformed their homes into personalized green spaces and urban farms through her expert garden consultations.
Before the pandemic, Janice served as the Garden Educator for The Texas Home & Garden Show, sharing her knowledge with audiences statewide. She is also a Master Gardener, Master Naturalist, and Certified Permaculturalist, merging science, ecology, design, and holistic living in a way that is accessible and joyful for everyday families.
With On the Grow™, Janice is now expanding her mission to reach new audiences and grow a movement that empowers people—especially youth and families—to create green spaces that nourish food, joy, and healing.
As a partner in the SOW WELL™ Ecosystem, Janice brings her unmatched gifts in garden education, environmental leadership, youth development, and community activation. Her work is a vital part of the SOW WELL™ mission to Regenerate Soil & Soul.
Janice believes deeply that gardens are more than plants—they are classrooms, healing spaces, and legacy builders.
Her guiding philosophy reflects her life’s purpose:
“When you teach people to grow, you help them transform their lives.”

Yumi Nays
Owner of Passion Garden Farms and Lead Agriculture Partner, SOW WELL™ Ecosystem
Yumi Nays is the Lead Agriculture Partner of the SOW WELL™ Ecosystem, a regenerative land steward whose life embodies the harmony between soil, soul, art, and community. Born and raised on his family’s farm in Jacksonville, Texas, Yumi learned early that the land is a living teacher. This rural upbringing shaped his deep respect for agriculture, nature, and the human spirit—values that now fuel his leadership within SOW WELL’s mission to Regenerate Soil & Soul.
A multidisciplinary visionary, Yumi is both a seasoned regenerative agriculture expert and a classically trained fine artist. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Northeastern University in Boston and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Tyler. His artistic eye, combined with his agricultural expertise, allows him to design landscapes, farms, and ecosystems that are not only sustainable—but deeply soulful and culturally expressive.
Yumi spent over 10 years in museum operations, including the Tyler Museum of Art, where he was professionally trained by the staff of the renowned Kimbell Art Museum. His research on architect Louis Kahn and archival studies at Harvard University Libraries expanded his understanding of space, structure, history, and design. His art has been exhibited at the Houston Contemporary Art Gallery, and he completed internships at the MADI Museum in Dallas. In 2007, he founded the Mount Saint Victoire Museum and Library, further bridging art, history, and human experience.
His art philosophy mirrors his agricultural philosophy:
Nature untamed. Broad spectrums. Unlimited possibilities.
Like branches swaying in the strongest winds, Yumi’s work honors life’s movement, grounded in the strength of the earth.
As founder of Passion Garden Farms, and co-leader of COMAX Contractors, Yumi brings over 20 years of experience in regenerative agriculture, soil rebuilding, urban and rural farm development, eco-forestry, sustainable land management, irrigation systems, water stewardship, heavy equipment operations, architectural landscaping, youth gardening education, composting systems, and agricultural sustainability.
Yumi’s community commitments include volunteer leadership with Global Revive—teaching children and adults how to grow food—and service with the Northeast Riverside Neighborhood Association, where he supports grassroots community development.
“The prosperity and development of our Agriculture Village is the prosperity of our nation.” — Yumi Nays
As SOW WELL’s Lead Agriculture Partner, Yumi shapes the agricultural vision and infrastructure for farms, youth programs, wellness communities, and global expansion initiatives—from Texas to Ghana. His work ensures that everything SOW WELL builds is rooted in healthy soil, cultural wisdom, and divine purpose.
