Walk it Like I Talk it!
June 2024 Theme is JUSTICE
Welcome to the House of Peace nature walk. Even if you do not reside in the Houston area you are able to participate via this blog post. Feel free to join us virtually for a check in before walking and before your walk check out the theme for the month on our Building Relationship Power Facebook page.
This month’s theme is Justice. Sure, we are all familiar with the word Justice and it’s definition. However, how often do you reflect on: What is the purpose of Justice? A phrase that was made popular during various civil rights protests was: NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE! If we peel back the layers of this powerful phrase we could gain insight into a foundational pillar of living in harmony that exists naturally in the Universe. When we truly embrace and align with the nature and purpose of JUSTICE, we experience inner peace on a consistent basis.
One key point to keep in mind is that Justice does not exist in a bubble by itself, it is connected to other character traits that we have discussed on our blog post, such as being fully present, honest, patient, self-loving, etc.
On the surface if we unpack the saying: no justice, no peace we can conclude that the purpose of justice is to produce peace. However, at a protest the usual demand is for peace and justice from someone else. In our curriculum at the Building Relationship Power Institute, we share that PEACE is an inside job. No inner peace = no outer peace. This statement is an example of what true Justice is and its purpose. Justice represents natural laws that exist to maintain and protect the integrity of the ONENESS of All. When divine laws are transgressed there are repercussions, damage, heightened emotions and break down in systems of the world. Without these worldly signals that point out misbehavior and lawbreaking, we wouldn’t be aware of the transgressions and the need to prioritize doing repair work. Instead, we would keep moving at suboptimal levels, diminishing the richness of our human experience, traumatized and in a state of no peace.
Recognizing which universal law one was not aware of or has transgressed is a critical step in doing the self- re-pairing work.
Another life principle we point out in our classes is, “Ignorance of the law does not excuse you from the consequences of breaking the law. Moreover, just because no other human being saw you transgress the law does not mean you are not guilty nor does it mean you got over on the divine universal laws. You are still liable for the consequences and for making amends. Justice always prevails.” If Justice was not consistent and fair then the Law of Reciprocity for example would not exist as an effective accountability tool that promotes inner-justice. Since true Justice is always fair, living in accordance to Divine Laws provides a mental solace for inner peace. Trusting the wisdom of inner justice work one is guaranteed success in two things that everyone desires to experience the most: inner peace and freedom.
Without the quality of a Justice character trait, one would easily conclude that life is not fair. The truth is, thanks to Justice, Life is always fair, even when circumstances and situations in the world do not appear to be. It is in these particular times of “injustices” that the call for inner Justice is beckoning us to remember its purpose and promise. Doing the inner justice work can be challenging and uncomfortable, however, history has proven that those who humble themselves and obey the divine laws reap the rewards of doing the self reparations work.
INNER JUSTICE = INNER PEACE
Take time this month to prosper in the character trait of JUSTICE. During our nature walk this month, participants attracted a real time experience of inner -justice. When we arrived at our usual nature park trail, we witnessed the aftermath of the windstorm that uprooted large trees in the park as well as the surrounding neighborhood. The damaged and fallen trees blocked the pathway. Initially, we were not aware of the damage just by looking from the outside of the park. We had to go inside in order to become aware of the damage. There were so many different life lessons and analogies available to each one of us through this commitment to Walking it like we Talk it group nature walk. We all reflected on the purpose of Justice and its connection to the divine laws of nature that consistently protects the beauty, integrity and peace of the ONE, no matter what.

I enjoyed this read.. I believed that No Justice no Peace was created to speak to our counterparts for the injustices of thousands of years. Your read has given me a new perspective to carry out that its about the controlling the self, then together reach harmony.
Thanks Melissa for your comment. Yes it always first and foremost about seeing ourselves first. It is universally designed that way in order for us to be a healthy contributor to the whole. You are amazing. Your commitment to seeing, embracing and taking full ownership for your self is so inspiring.
